Sam started working for me in 2022 when he ran a small yard for me in Tokai with Chris Gorr. He is an extraordinarily dedicated team member, traveling many hours between work and home daily. Chris taught Sam everything about running a professional, well-run yard. When we decided to move the work to our Panorama Stud Farm, we offered him a job immediately. Within days Sam and his beautiful wife Lucia moved onto the farm. Sam runs the farm, including over 100 pigs, 200 sheep, and our breeding stallions, broodmares, and foals. Quite a job! Lucia has joined Sam and works several mornings to help tidy the yard. It’s a mammoth task, and Sam keeps his beautiful smile going.
We look forward to all joining him on the farm in the coming months. The whole team will be based on Panorama while running the trails at Vrede en Lust Wine Estate. We are so lucky to have Sam, and despite his demanding workload, he keeps us all smiling with his great sense of humour.
